Lessons in Img2track

I made this scarf for my friend, Melanie, for her birthday with the Img2track software for my Brother 940. I had made a similar one earlier for myself and knew I needed to turn the second letter upside down so it would hang right when worn as a scarf. But, what I did not realize is that the second letter needed to be reversed, as well as turned upside down. I had no trouble when I knit the one for me, because the letter H for my last name is symmetrical – so when it knit backwards I did not know it. But when I knit a B for her last name, it was backwards. Only a few of the letters are symmetrical. So in reality, I knit 2 scarves – one rather unusable. 🙂  So, thanks to Tanya on the Img2track Facebook Group, I learned another important fact about how this software uses images. Img2track has amazing possibilities for owners of electronic Brother machines and I need to get back to using it more. The scarf is knit with 2 row striped double bed jacquard. I knit the center of the scarf with plain white DBJ so it matched the stitches of the letters – which required putting 3 separate patterns into the knitting machine. It is knit with 2 strands of 2/24 on tension 2 and after blocking it is soft and luscious. So…it’s not scarf weather as we head towards summer, but winter is coming! 🙂
