Warm Hug Slouchy Socks

  • Machine: Bulky with ribber
  • Yarn: Heavy 4 ply like Red Heart
  • Tension: 7
  • Size: Women’s 7 – 9

 

  • Cast on with WY over 36 needles; comb and weights; K few R’s; 1 R ravel cord
  • With MY E-wrap cast on
  • K 4 R; *remove stitches onto a garter bar or remove on WY
  • Turn work; K 4 R*
  • Repeat * to * until you have 12 four row sections
  • Do not turn after the last 4 R section; remove onto WY
  • Ribber pitch to H3
  • Change sinker plate to ribber one
  • Put 18 N’s on each bed to working position (left most N on ribber)
  • Purl side of WY facing me and WY curling to back, start on R center needle by placing L most loop of sock onto that N. Roll rib into a circle (WY on outside of the roll – not in center) and place what was the R most loop onto L center needle and put loops onto main bed to fill the 18 St. (Center seam of rib will be back of sock)
  • Reach under ribber and hang weights on sock
  • Push knitting in between beds as you pull ribber halfway up
  • Working your way along ribber bed put rest of 18 loops onto ribber N
  • Pull ribber up into place pushing the knitting down between beds and tugging knitting down from below; weight
  • Circular settings on (Right PR button on ribber up and L part button pushed in)
  • LEG: RC:000; Join MY
  • T 7/7
  • K to RC 16 (8 circular rows)
  • HEEL: T 6
  • Drop Ribber halfway down
  • Set MB carriage to Hold; remove circular setting on MB; change sinker plate
  • Short Row down to 8 sts and back out; moving weights
  • Fill holes by picking up heel of end ribber st on each side; re-weight
  • Change sinker plate to ribber one; set MB carriage back to circular; Remove Hold setting
  • FOOT: T 7/7; RC 000
  • K to RC 50 (25 circular R)
  • TOE: T 6
  • Drop Ribber halfway down
  • Set MB carriage to Hold; remove circular setting on MB; change sinker plate
  • Short Row down to 6 sts and back out; moving weights
  • Fill holes by picking up heel of end ribber st on each side and hand knit each of those sts
  • Re-weight
  • Change sinker plate to ribber one; set MB carriage back to circular; Remove Hold setting
  • Cut long tail MY for Kitchener st and change to WY
  • Knit few rows circular WY; remove from machine
  • Kitchener st toe from purl side, mattress st top; Remove WY; weave in ends
