Plated Stockinette Roll Brim Hat


Standard Machine; 1 strand each of 2 good contrasting colors 2/24 yarn; Tension 5

Referring to your manual, remove yarn feeder and insert the plating feeder in your sinker plate

  • Thread your tension mast with the 2 yarns, running them in separate sides of the mast
  • E-wrap cast on 150 needles (75 X 75) ; T5; RC 000
  • Thread yarns into proper spaces in your carriage (plating color makes the purl stitches)
  • Hang comb and weights
  • Knit to RC 115
  • Move every other st to one on the right
  • T 1
  • Knit 3 – 5 rows, end with carriage on right
  • Cut long length of yarn and thread a tapestry needle.
  • Take sts off machine with the tapestry needle
  • Mattress stitch side, reversing sides for the rolled brim part
  • Pull up stitches tight at top and stitch down inside hat
